
Promote access to credit for usually non-bankable individuals and support the creation of new economic and professional opportunities capable of contributing to the path of social inclusion and the fight against unemployment for economically fragile individuals (young and unemployed).
This is the objective of the MEDSt @ rts project, funded with 2,547,935.73 euros from the ENI CBC Med Program, an instrument of the European Union for cross-border cooperation in the Mediterranean basin for the period 2014-2020, which will be officially presented on Friday 31st. January, at 9.30, in the headquarters of the Fondazione di Sardegna in Cagliari (via San Salvatore da Horta, 2). All project partners from Italy, Greece, Tunisia, Lebanon and Palestine will participate.
MEDSt @ rts is aimed at the unemployed, the unemployed (in particular young people between 24 and 35 and women) and companies in the underground economy. The leader of the project, which lasts 30 months, is the Sardinia Foundation. The other partners are: SFIRS SpA (Italy), Italian-Arab Chamber of Cooperation (Italy), Achaia Chamber of Commerce (Greece), Sfax Chamber of Commerce (Tunisia), LEADERS (Palestine)
and Southern Lebanon Chamber of Commerce (Lebanon).
The aim of the intervention is the creation of a common transnational program as an alternative system of access to credit inspired by the principles of ethical and solidarity finance, involving public and private institutions: an objective, simple and impactful financing system that also allows individuals traditionally recognized as non-bankable, the possibility of accessing forms of microfinance for the launch and development of entrepreneurial actions in sectors such as digital, sustainable tourism, agrifood, eco-design and crafts.
