Mediterranean Bee Hubs in support for sustainable economic prosperity in deprived rural areas.

The project in brief

The general objective of MedBEESinessHubs is to support the economies of disadvantaged rural communities in the Mediterranean regions of Cyprus, Egypt, Italy, Lebanon and Palestine.

Through coaching and capacity building in technical and entrepreneurial subjects, as well as through the provision of sub-grants, this project will seek to provide new jobs through the creation of micro-SMEs, bee-keeping companies that can create value from the products of the bee adding their individual art of craftsmanship and design.

MedBEESinessHubs will assist them in partnering with local authorities in order to transform their region into a honeycomb, made up of a cluster of micro-SMEs in the BEESiness of honey in each region as they build sustainable tourism destinations in this process.

The project will allow them to establish their hive, the MedBEESinessHubs, where cross-pollination will begin, so as to achieve cross-border cooperation between regional actors and micro-SMEs in beekeeping clusters.

Of course, in all this endeavor, the MedBEESinessHubs project will help endangered bees survive and continue to provide food and life on earth.
